Umaku was born out of a necessity. We have been running Omdena, Inc, for over 6 years and have executed over 600 AI projects, involving 5000+ AI Engineers. We saw that the same challenges keep coming back, project after project, in AI development. There was no other tool that could solve the challenges we were facing. So we decided to build a platform, initially for ourselves, but soon realized that such a tool can be of immense value to other organizations also building AI products.
Umaku comes from the Japanese word, which means ‘skillful’. This aligns well with our idea and brand, as we believe that this platform will help developers do skillful work.
AI product development is fundamentally different from traditional software development. Models evolve, requirements shift, and experimentation is constant — yet delivery expectations remain high.
Most teams are forced to adapt generic project management tools to workflows they were never designed to support.
As a result, AI teams struggle with:
Umaku exists to solve this.It brings structure, context, and governance into AI workflows — without slowing teams down or breaking how they work.
While every organization is different, teams that adopt structured AI delivery, context-aware reviews, and continuous governance typically observe measurable improvements across delivery, quality, and visibility.
These outcomes are driven by clearer signals, shared context, and proactive decision-making—not additional process overhead.
We help organizations:
If you’re building AI products and need greater visibility, stronger governance, and smoother collaboration, Umaku is built for you.
